Privacy in Lumora Prospect
This notice applies to Lumora Prospect for iPhone. It explains what information the app uses, what stays on the device, and the choices available to you.
At a glance
- Finds, photos, signals, expeditions and Field Twin data are stored locally in the app's protected area on the iPhone.
- Lumora Prospect has no user account, no Lumora cloud storage, and no advertising, tracking or behavioural analytics.
- Location, the camera and selected photos are used only when you grant permission or start the feature yourself.
- Map and terrain features send necessary requests to Apple and public GeoNorge/Kartverket services.
Responsible business and contact
LUMORA TECH NILSEN, organization number 837 844 622, is responsible for Lumora Prospect.
Lumora cannot access field data that exists only on your iPhone. Privacy questions can be sent to kontakt@lumorahorizon.no.
Information handled by the app
Depending on the features you choose to use, the app may handle:
- finds with location, photos, notes, material and field information
- manual detector signals, detector and search profiles, VDI and signal strength
- prospect areas, map points, terrain selections and field observations
- expeditions, routes, waypoints, checklists and an optional safety contact
- Field Twin areas, sessions, route points, coverage estimates and search settings
- language, app settings and whether onboarding is complete
Location and Field Twin
With iOS permission, the app uses location, accuracy, altitude, heading and time to show GPS, place finds and signals, plan areas and record routes. You can choose approximate or precise location in iOS settings, but some field features will be less precise without precise location.
Background location is used only while you have an active Field Twin recording session running. iOS displays a location indicator during that time. When recording ends, Field Twin no longer continues recording the route in the background.
Camera and photos
The camera is used only when you choose to photograph a find. The photo library is used only for images you select through Apple's photo picker. The app stores a local copy linked to the find.
Lumora does not receive the photos, and the app does not upload them to a Lumora service.
Local storage
App data is stored in the app's local iOS area using local settings storage and files. There is no Lumora account and no automatic synchronisation to a Lumora server.
iOS may include app data in device or iCloud backups according to your Apple settings. Those backups are controlled by Apple and your iPhone settings, not by Lumora.
Maps, elevation and terrain services
Apple Maps is used for maps and optional opening of directions. GeoNorge/Kartverket is used for terrain relief, LiDAR-based terrain layers where coverage exists, elevation points and terrain analysis.
These services receive the network requests needed to provide the feature. Requests may include an IP address, the visible map area or the coordinate for which you request terrain information. Find notes, photos, safety contacts and detector history are not sent to these services by the app.

Backup, export and sharing
Backup and export happen only when you start them. A full Lumora backup may contain precise locations, Field Twin routes, areas, expeditions, waypoints, a safety contact, finds, photos, notes, detector signals and search profiles.
A full backup is not password-protected. When you share or move an exported file, it is then handled by the destination or service you choose. Treat it as sensitive information.
If you choose to send a prepared expedition safety message, the app opens Apple's message composer. The message is sent only after you approve it, and is then handled by Apple, the mobile carrier and the recipient.
Keeping, deleting and controlling data
Local information remains until you delete items in the app or remove the app from the iPhone. Exported backup files must be deleted wherever you stored or shared them. Copies in device or iCloud backups are controlled through your Apple settings.
You can change access to location, camera and photos at any time under Settings → Privacy & Security on the iPhone. Features that need a permission may then stop working. Lumora cannot view, retrieve or remotely delete data that exists only on your device.
Security, children and responsible use
Protect the iPhone with a passcode or biometrics, and avoid sharing exact find locations or backup files with people you do not trust. Lumora Prospect is not specifically directed at children. Minors should use field features with a guardian and follow local rules for access and metal detecting.
Maps, GPS, elevation and coverage estimates can be inaccurate. The app is not an emergency, navigation or safety service.
Your rights and further help
Because Lumora does not receive data stored only on the device, we cannot access or delete that data for you. If you contact support by email, the website's general privacy notice applies to the enquiry itself.
